31st Anniversary of Melcar Church
in San Jose City, Nueva Ecija

Last February 9, 2014 at 3 o┬░clock in the afternoon, our brethren from Melcar celebrated their 31st anniversary. Branch churches from Nueva Ecija gathered together and the program was started with a prelude from Sis. Leah on the piano and the young people from the Strings Dept. headed by Bro. Harold.

Words of welcome were given by Bro. Sid, the newly assigned pastor of Melcar church. Congregational singing was led by Sis. Luz and the opening prayer was given by Bro. Mike. A special number was delivered by the Melcar choir " 'Tis so Sweet to Trust Jesus" followed by the church history given by Bro. Joel, the worker-in-charge in Melcar. A special number was rendered by the Youth choir "Jesus Made a Believer" which ended with an acapella "I have Something to Sing About" setting the congregation's spirit for God's message.

Scripture reading in Ps 126:5,6 was given by Bro. Joey followed by the message from Rev. Zenaida Ruiz. The message focused on Isa 40:25-31 about the four-fold promise to those who wait upon the Lord. First, they shall renew their strength may it be physical, mental or spiritual. Second, they shall mount with wings like eagles which can soar up high unlike a quail. Third, they shall run and not be weary. Though we are in the service of the Lord for the longest time, He still promised to give us enough strength and endurance to do greater works, adventure and challenges for the Lord. Lastly, they shall walk and not faint just like in Judges 8:4 during Gideon's time, "he, and the 300 men that were with him, faint, yet pursuing them". God has the strength to revive us in the midst of exhaustion and weakness, to give us the ability to rise above our difficulties like an eagle and the ability to run spiritually without tiring and to walk steadily without fainting. The message was ended with the scripture in Ps 126:5 "They that sow in tears shall reap in joy". Those who are faithful in sowing with tears and prayers will be led by the Lord while they reap. Bro. Roque led the closing prayer with the hope of the promise given by the Lord.

Sis. Lina Alvaran ended the program with an invitation to the pastoral house for snacks and fellowship.
